Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), is a significant provision of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
FSVP shifts the burden of ensuring the safety of imported food directly onto Importers and their foreign suppliers. FSVP audits of foreign suppliers show the supplier is in compliance with FDA regulations. These audits can be used by the importer as part of their FSVP.
